ഇന്ന് ഉച്ചക്കാണ് സംഭവം കൊടുവായൂർ പിട്ട്പീടിക ആയില്യം കോംപ്ലക്സിൽ വാടകയ്ക്ക് താമസിക്കുന്ന കെ മണികണ്ഠന്റെ ഭാര്യ അനുപ്രിയ (31) ആണ് മരിച്ചത്. ചിറ്റൂർ അഞ്ചാംമൈൽ അയാവുചള്ളയിൽ അപ്പുക്കുട്ടന്റെയും ഓമനയുടെയും മകളാണ്.
അനുപ്രിയയെ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയ കേസിൽ ഭർത്താവ് കെ മണികണ്ഠൻ പോലീസ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലാണ്.
ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് ഊണ് കഴിക്കാൻ മണികണ്ഠൻ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ഭാര്യയും ഭർത്താവും തമ്മിൽ വാക്കു തർക്കമുണ്ടായി. പ്രകോപിതനായ മണികണ്ഠൻ ഷാൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് അനുപ്രിയയുടെ കഴുത്തിൽ മുറുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇതേ തുടർന്നായിരുന്നു മരണം സംഭവിച്ചത്. വൈകുന്നേരമാണ് വിവരം നാട്ടുകാർ അറിഞ്ഞത്. ഉടൻതന്നെ പോലീസിനെ അറിയിച്ചു. പോലീസ് എത്തി മണികണ്ഠനെ കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തു. മൃതദേഹം തുടർനടപടികളുടെ ഭാഗമായി ജില്ലാ ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. ആത്മിക (8) അനാമിക ( 6 ) എന്നിവർ മക്കളാണ്. അനിൽകുമാർ സഹോദരനാണ്.
Husband Held for Allegedly Strangling Wife to Death in Koduvayur
Palakkad: A 31-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her husband at Koduvayur in Palakkad on Monday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Anupriya (31), wife of K. Manikandan. The couple was staying on rent at Ailayam Complex near Pittpeedika in Koduvayur. Anupriya was the daughter of Appukuttan and Omana of Ayavuchallayil, Anjammile, Chittur.
According to the information available, Manikandan returned home for lunch in the afternoon, following which an argument broke out between the couple. It is alleged that Manikandan, in a fit of anger, strangled Anupriya using a shawl, resulting in her death.
The incident came to the attention of local residents in the evening, who informed the police. Police reached the spot and took Manikandan into custody.
The body was shifted to the District Hospital as part of further procedures.
The couple has two children, Athmika (8) and Anamika (6). Anil Kumar is Anupriya's brother.
