പാലക്കാട്ടെ കൽപ്പാത്തി വിശ്വപ്രസിദ്ധമായ രഥോത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഒരുക്കങ്ങളിലേക്ക് നീങ്ങുകയാണ്.
ഇത്തവണ നവംബർ 7 മുതൽ 17 വരെ നടക്കുന്ന കൽപാത്തി രഥോത്സവം സുഗമമായും ഏകോപനത്തോടെയും നടത്തുന്നതിന്നായി രഥ സംഗമത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്ന നാലു ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളുടെ ഭാരവാഹികളുടെ പ്രഥമയോഗം ചേർന്നു.
ശ്രീ വിശാലാക്ഷീ സമേത വിശ്വനാഥസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം, പഴയ കൽപാത്തി ലക്ഷ്മീ നാരായണ പെരുമാൾ ക്ഷേത്രം, പുതിയ കൽപാത്തി മന്ദക്കര ശ്രീ മഹാഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം, ചാത്തപ്പുരം ശ്രീ പ്രസന്ന മഹാഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ ഭാരവാഹികളും ട്രസ്റ്റിമാരുമാണ് യോഗത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തത്.
നവംബർ 8 ന് രഥോത്സവത്തിന് കൊടിയേറും :
നവംബർ 7 ന് വൈകിട്ട് ഏഴു മണിക്ക് നടക്കുന്ന വാസ്തുബലി, ശാന്തി ഹോമ ചടങ്ങുകളെ തുടർന്ന് നവംബർ 8 ന് രാവിലെ നാലു ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലും രഥോത്സവത്തിൻ്റെ കൊടിയേറ്റം നടക്കും. ഉത്സവദിവസങ്ങളിൽ ഭാരതത്തിൻ്റെ വിവിധ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുമെത്തുന്ന പ്രമുഖ വേദപണ്ഡിതരുടെ ചതുർവ്വേദ പാരായണവും ക്ഷേത്ര ദേവതകൾക്ക് ജപ-ഹോമ - അർച്ചന - അഭിഷേകങ്ങളും ഉത്സവമൂർത്തികളുടെ രഥവീഥിയിലൂടെയുള്ള എഴുന്നെള്ളത്തും നടക്കും.
രഥോത്സവത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പുണ്യം നിറഞ്ഞ അഞ്ചാം തിരുനാൾ നവംബർ 12ന് അർദ്ധരാത്രി പന്ത്രണ്ടു മണിക്ക് നടക്കും. അഞ്ചാം തിരുനാൾ പല്ലാക്ക് - രഥസംഗമ ചടങ്ങുകൾ ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് ദർശിക്കുവാൻ വേണ്ട സൗകര്യങ്ങളും ക്രമീകരണങ്ങളും ഉറപ്പാക്കുമെന്ന് യോഗം തീരുമാനിച്ചു.
ചരിത്രപ്രസിദ്ധമായ രഥസംഗമം നവംബർ 16-ന് :
നവംബർ 14, 15, 16 തീയതികളിലാണ് വർണാഭമായി അലങ്കരിച്ച ആറു രഥങ്ങളുടെ ഗ്രാമപ്രയാണം. 16-ന് വൈകുന്നേരമാണ് രഥസംഗമം. നവംബർ 17-ന് ആറാട്ടും കൊടിയിറക്കവും നടക്കും.
രഥോത്സവത്തിന്നായി എത്തിച്ചേരുന്ന ഭക്ത-ബഹുജനങ്ങൾക്ക് സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ ഏർപ്പെടുത്തിയും ഹൃദ്യമായ അനുഭവങ്ങൾ പ്രദാനം ചെയ്യും വിധവുംഉത്സവചsങ്ങുകൾ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കും.
ജില്ലാ ഭരണകൂടത്തിന് നിവേദനം:
രഥോത്സവത്തിൻ്റെ വിജയകരമായ നടത്തിപ്പിനായി സർക്കാർ വകുപ്പുകളുടെയും തദ്ദേശ സ്വയംഭരണ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുടെ ഇടപെടലുകളും ക്രമീകരണങ്ങളും ഏകോപനങ്ങളും അഭ്യർത്ഥിച്ച് പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലാ ഭരണകൂടത്തിനും മുനിസിപ്പാലിറ്റിയ്ക്കും സംയുക്ത നിവേദനം നൽകുവാൻ യോഗം തീരുമാനിച്ചു. രഥോത്സവ വേളയിൽ അനിവാര്യമായ ബഹുജന-വയോജന സൗഹൃദ ക്രമീകരണങ്ങൾ, പൈതൃക - പുഴ സംരക്ഷണം, ഗതാഗതയോഗ്യമായ റോഡുകൾ, പാർക്കിംഗ് സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ, സുരക്ഷാ- ഗതാഗത - വഴിയോര കച്ചവട നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങൾ, ശുചിത്വപാലനം, ശുദ്ധജലവിതരണം, വിദ്യുച്ഛക്തി ലഭ്യത തുടങ്ങിയവ ഉറപ്പാക്കും വിധമുള്ള ഇടപെടലുകൾക്കായി ജില്ലാ ഭരണകൂടത്തോട് അഭ്യർത്ഥിക്കുവാനും യോഗം തീരുമാനിച്ചു.
രഥോത്സവവും പാലക്കാട്ടെ കൽപ്പാത്തിയും:
തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ മായവരം മയൂരനാഥ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ തുലാമാസത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്ന രഥോത്സവത്തിൻ്റെ മാതൃകയിലാണ് ആറു നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകൾക്ക് മുമ്പ് നിർമ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ട കൽപാത്തി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ രഥോത്സവം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്. തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ മായാവരത്തു നിന്നും പാലക്കാട്ടെ കൽപ്പാത്തിയിലേക്ക് കുടിയേറിയവരാണ് അഗ്രഹാര നിവാസികൾ. ആ പൂർവിക ആചാരത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് കൽപ്പാത്തിയിലും രഥം ഉരുണ്ടു തുടങ്ങിയത്. ഇതനുസ്മരിച്ച് ഒക്ടോബർ 24, 25 തീയതികളിൽ കൽപാത്തി ക്ഷേത്ര പ്രതിനിധികൾ മയിലാടുതുറൈയിലെ മായവരം ക്ഷേത്രം സന്ദർശിച്ച് ആരാധനകൾ നിർവ്വഹിക്കും.
രഥോത്സവ പത്രികാ പ്രകാശനം ഒക്ടോബർ 8-ന് :
കൽപാത്തി രഥോത്സവം, ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ, അഗ്രഹാരങ്ങൾ സംബന്ധിച്ച വിവരണങ്ങളടങ്ങിയ സംയുക്ത രഥോത്സവ വിളംബര പത്രിക പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കും. ഒക്ടോബർ 8- ന് ( വ്യാഴാഴ്ച്ച) വൈകിട്ട് 06.30 ന് ശ്രീ വിശ്വനാഥസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രാങ്കണത്തിൽ സംയുക്ത രഥോത്സവ പത്രികയുടെ പ്രകാശനം ഭക്തജന സാന്നിദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ ക്ഷേത്രപ്രതിനിധികൾ നിർവ്വഹിക്കും.
വേദ- ആഗമ - ആചാര വിധി പ്രകാരമുള്ള രഥോത്സവ ചടങ്ങുകളും അനുബന്ധ പരിപാടികളും ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഭക്ത-ബഹുജനങ്ങളുടെ വർദ്ധിത പങ്കാളിത്തത്തോടെ നടത്തുവാൻ യോഗം തീരുമാനിച്ചു. ശിവക്ഷേത്രം മാനേജിംഗ് ട്രസ്റ്റി വി കെ സുജിത് വർമ്മ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു. പുതിയ കൽപാത്തി ഗ്രാമജനസമൂഹം - മന്ദക്കര ശ്രീ മഹാഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം - പ്രസിഡൻറ് കെ എസ് കൃഷ്ണ, പഴയ കൽപാത്തി ശ്രീ ലക്ഷ്മീ നാരായണ പെരുമാൾ ക്ഷേത്രം മാനേജിംഗ് ട്രസ്റ്റി സി എസ് മഹേഷ് കൃഷ്ണൻ, ചാത്തപ്പുരം ഗ്രാമസമൂഹം ബ്രഹ്മസ്വം ട്രസ്റ്റ് ശ്രീ പ്രസന്ന മഹാഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം സെക്രട്ടറി സി വി മുരളി രാമനാഥൻ എന്നിവർ പരിപാടികൾ വിശദീകരിച്ചു. ക്ഷേത്ര ഭാരവാഹികളായ വി കെ രാജേന്ദ്രവർമ്മ, വി കെ പ്രശോഭ്, കെ അജിത് (ശിവക്ഷേത്രം), സി കെ ശ്രീനിവാസൻ (പഴയ കൽപാത്തി ശ്രീലക്ഷ്മീ നാരായണ പെരുമാൾ ക്ഷേത്രം), കെ ആർ സുരേശ് (മന്ദക്കര ശ്രീ മഹാഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം), സി ബി ബാലഗണപതി വാദ്ധ്യാർ, (ചാത്തപ്പുരം പ്രസന്ന ഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രം) എന്നിവർ പങ്കെടുത്തു.
Palakkad’s historic Kalpathi is gearing up for the internationally renowned Kalpathi Ratholsavam. The preliminary activities for this year’s festival have begun.
A first meeting of the office-bearers of the four temples participating in the Rathasangamam was held to ensure the smooth and coordinated conduct of the festival, scheduled from November 7 to 17.
Representatives and trustees of Sri Visalakshi Sametha Viswanathaswamy Temple, Pazhaya Kalpathi Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple, Puthiya Kalpathi Mandakkara Sri Mahaganapathi Temple, and Chathapuram Sri Prasanna Mahaganapathi Temple participated in the meeting.
Flag hoisting on November 8
The festival will begin with Vasthubali and Shanti Homam at 7 pm on November 7. The flag hoisting for the Ratholsavam will be held at all four temples on the morning of November 8.
During the festival, Chaturveda recitation by prominent Vedic scholars from different parts of India, along with japa, homam, archana and abhishekam at the temples, will be held. Processions of the festival deities through the ratha streets will also take place.
The fifth Thirunal, considered an important day of the Ratholsavam, will be held at midnight on November 12. The meeting decided to make necessary arrangements for devotees to witness the Pallakku-Rathasangamam ceremony.
Historic Rathasangamam on November 16
The colourful procession of six decorated chariots will take place on November 14, 15 and 16. The Rathasangamam will be held on the evening of November 16. The festival will conclude with Aarattu and flag lowering on November 17.
The organisers will make arrangements to provide facilities for the devotees and the general public arriving for the Ratholsavam and ensure a comfortable festival experience.
Joint memorandum to district administration
The meeting decided to submit a joint memorandum to the Palakkad district administration and the municipality, seeking coordination and necessary arrangements by government departments and local self-government institutions for the successful conduct of the Ratholsavam.
The memorandum will seek arrangements including public- and senior-citizen-friendly facilities, heritage and river conservation, motorable roads, parking facilities, security and traffic management, regulation of roadside vending, sanitation, drinking water supply and electricity availability.
Kalpathi and the Ratholsavam tradition
The Ratholsavam at the Kalpathi temples is celebrated following the model of the Ratholsavam held during the Tamil month of Thulam at the Mayuranatha Temple in Mayavaram, Tamil Nadu. The Agraharam residents of Kalpathi are descendants of people who migrated from Mayavaram to Palakkad. The chariot festival in Kalpathi is associated with this ancestral tradition.
As part of this tradition, representatives of the Kalpathi temples will visit the Mayavaram temple at Mayiladuthurai on October 24 and 25 and offer prayers.
Ratholsavam booklet to be released on October 8
A joint Ratholsavam booklet containing details about the Kalpathi Ratholsavam, temples and Agraharams will be published. The booklet will be released at 6.30 pm on October 8 at the premises of Sri Viswanathaswamy Temple in the presence of devotees and temple representatives.
The meeting also decided to conduct the Ratholsavam rituals and related programmes in accordance with Vedic, Agamic and traditional practices, with increased participation from devotees and the general public.
V.K. Sujith Varma, Managing Trustee of the Shiva Temple, presided over the meeting. K.S. Krishna, President of Puthiya Kalpathi Gramajanasamuham–Mandakkara Sri Mahaganapathi Temple; C.S. Mahesh Krishnan, Managing Trustee of Pazhaya Kalpathi Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple; and C.V. Murali Ramanathan, Secretary of Chathapuram Gramasamuham Brahmaswam Trust–Sri Prasanna Mahaganapathi Temple, explained the programmes.
Temple office-bearers V.K. Rajendravarma, V.K. Prashobh and K. Ajith from the Shiva Temple, C.K. Sreenivasan from Pazhaya Kalpathi Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple, K.R. Suresh from Mandakkara Sri Mahaganapathi Temple, and C.B. Balaganapathi Vadhyar from Chathapuram Prasanna Ganapathi Temple also participated.
